“Super” Weekend Tastings Featuring “Super Value” Burgundy and Superb “Super-Tuscans”

Now that the summer heat has broken a bit (for a while, at least), we’re going to indulge our passion for Tuscany’s robust reds and showcase one astonishing white Burgundy Chardonnay value.  Come by this Friday from 3-7pm and Saturday from noon-4pm and try these beauties:

Chanson Pere et Fils Vire Clesse 2015 – Most Wine Spectator 91 point 2015 white Burgundies clock in at $50-$100+.  This rich but still nicely vibrant 91 pointer delivers all that quality but can go home with you from $16.98.  Pretty much the definition of a “steal”!

Casaloste Rosso Maniero Colli della Toscana Centrale 2014 - Pretty much the definition of Italian fun here in a blend of 65% Sangiovese and 35% Cannaiolo and other red grapes.  Zesty, fruit-filled, fun.

Casaloste Chianti Classico 2014 – One of the top wines of this challenging vintage (92 points from Antonio Galloni in Vinous), this has a remarkably lush and deep texture with a just right pop of zesty Chianti cherry.

Casaloste Chianti Classico Riserva 2011 – Not much left of this bold Riserva from Chianti’s fabulous 2011 vintage.  Delicious now and with plenty of potential.

Il Borro Toscana 2013 – Turns out the Ferragamo family knows more than just fashion – or rather, knows how to fashion 95 point (Wine Advocate) super-Tuscans from a stunning property in eastern Tuscany.  A powerful, rich, cellar-worthy Bordeaux blend that’s not to be missed.

We’ll have all of these wines open to try from 3-7pm on Friday and noon-4pm on Saturday along with a treat or two from the cheese case to nibble on as well.  Join us!
