Blenheim Chardonnay Virginia 2014 Product #30629 (In Stock)
Blenheim Chardonnay Virginia 2014 Blenheim Chardonnay Virginia 2014

A really charming and delicious Chardonnay from just outside Charlottesville, this is all estate grown fruit aged in tank and a mix of French, American, and Hungarian oak. Punches all the Chardonnay buttons - crisp apple, ripe pear, toasted hazelnut, and just a kiss of oak - but isn't buttery or heavy at just 12.5% abv.  Finishes with fine energy and a touch of sweet spice.

Barboursville Chardonnay Reserve 2016 Product #32088 (In Stock)
Barboursville Chardonnay Reserve 2016 Barboursville Chardonnay Reserve 2016

Barboursville lets the fruit for it's Reserve Chardonnay hang on the vine until late in the season, picking up more richness and flavor than the regular bottling.  Aged in 2nd and 3rd use French oak rounds out the texture and adds layers of smoky complexity to the rich orchard and tropical fruit aromas and flavors.  Creamy, but fresh, and a fine match for seafood, poultry and sipping.

Barboursville Viognier Reserve 2015 Product #32133 (In Stock)
Barboursville Viognier Reserve 2015 Barboursville Viognier Reserve 2015

"The 2015 Viognier Reserve is unoaked and comes in at 13% alcohol. This is currently available. Fresh and lively, it is exuberant in its youth, but dry and serious on the finish, despite the fine fruit and big nose. The aromatics are enticing, but the rest isn't so shabby. It is pretty fine—another reliable bottling from Barboursville that has some distinction at a nice price most of the time."Wine Advocate 90 points

Thibaut Janisson Blanc De Blancs Brut NV Product #19763 (In Stock)
Thibaut Janisson Blanc De Blancs Brut NV Thibaut Janisson Blanc De Blancs Brut NV

Thiabaut Janisson is a joint venture between Champagne’s Manuel Janisson and globe-trotting winemaker Claude Thibaut.  After earning his winemaking degree from the University of Reims in the heart of France’s Champagne region, Claude worked with wineries in France, Australia and California before being recruited by Kluge Estate in Virginia in 2003.  He launched his own label in 2007, and the results have been nothing short of outstanding.

The TJ Blanc de Chardonnay is - as the name suggests - 100% Chardonnay grown in the Monticello region around Charlottesville.  The wine shows a lovely bready/yeasty nose, fine bubbles, and a crisp texture with hints of baked apple and bread flavors.  Certainly the best Virginia fizz we’ve tasted, and one of the best Virginia wines period.

"Brilliant lemon color with a refined nose, reminiscent of white Burgundy. Racy mineral laden attack with beautifully delineated flavors of melon and nicely integrated oak on a refined and understated, elegant palate. Made by the master winemaker, Claude Thibaut."i-Wine Review 91 points

Rdv Vineyards Friends And Family 2014 Product #31815 (In Stock)
Rdv Vineyards Friends And Family 2014 Rdv Vineyards Friends And Family 2014

From arguably the best red wine estate on America's East Coast, this is RDV's third wine, a friendly blend meant for early drinking and sharing.  The blend is secret, but it's clearly a lot of Merlot with some Cabernet and, perhaps, Petit Verdot.  Rich, ripe, and very stylish, there's nice New World fruit here with plenty of Bordeaux cedar, tobacco, spice and class.

Glen Manor St. Ruth Red Blend 2013 Product #31813 (In Stock)
Glen Manor St. Ruth Red Blend 2013 Glen Manor St. Ruth Red Blend 2013

Jeff White makes some of Virginia's most exciting wines including this Cab Franc-dominant Bordeaux blend from the warm 2013 harvest.  Decant or hold.

"The 2013 St. Ruth (formerly known as the T. Ruth; the name changed with this vintage) is a blend of 46% Cabernet Franc, 46% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot, aged for 20 months in a 40/60 mixture of new and used French oak. It comes in at 14.7%. Another Big Boy from Glen Manor this issue, this is brooding, with plenty of pop and substance. The big fruit and oak mingle to create a dark and burnished feel. It never seems sweet or laced with vanilla, just stern and tight. In that last regard, the tannins show up here rather prominently eventually, but they also receded with about 90 minutes of aeration. This is not ready to drink and it could use a couple of years in the cellar--give it at least one, please--but it shows a lot of promise. It has a very Bordeaux-like feel."Wine Advocate 89 points

Rdv Vineyards Rendezvous 2013 Product #32134 (In Stock)
Rdv Vineyards Rendezvous 2013 Rdv Vineyards Rendezvous 2013

From perhaps Virginia's best red wine estate, another fine release.

"The attractive blackberry, cassis and chocolate aromas and moderately dry tannins make this rich and elegant blend based on merlot easy to enjoy, but it has some real depth and a complex finish with blood-orange and espresso notes. You could drink it now, but it will be better with another one to three years of ageing."  James Suckling 91 points
