Ch Vignelaure Rose Coteaux d'Aix En Provence 2015 Product #31145 (In Stock)
Ch Vignelaure Rose Coteaux d'Aix En Provence 2015 Ch Vignelaure Rose Coteaux d'Aix En Provence 2015

A blend of 40% Grenache - bled from red wine tanks - plus 30% direct press Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.  The texture is the real story here, round and plush and mouthfilling but still light and fresh.  You'll love it right now as a late-Summer refresher, but hold on to some for end-of-year feasts and even for Summer 2017 - because this will just get better with time!

"Pale orange. Aromas of orange zest, strawberry and white flowers show very good clarity and a subtle mineral element. Juicy and focused, offering ripe strawberry and tangerine flavors that put on weight with aeration. Fleshy, focused and dry on the penetrating finish, which shows good, nervy cut and minerally persistence."  Vinous (Reynolds) 90 points

"Editors Choice! Coming from a remote estate on the edge of the Lubéron mountains in the north of Provence, this wine is impressively rich. It gains great concentration and structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in the blend. Full of ripe red fruits, it is dense at the end."Wine Enthusiast 93 points

Dom Du Dragon Grande Cuvee Rose Cotes De Provence 2016 Product #31897 (In Stock)
Dom Du Dragon Grande Cuvee Rose Cotes De Provence 2016 Dom Du Dragon Grande Cuvee Rose Cotes De Provence 2016

Since the 2001 vintage first appeared in the store years ago, Dragon Rosé has been a consistent customer and staff favorite year after year.  The Lienard family tends about 50 acres of vines in Provence and makes this from Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache, and a nice dose of Rolle grown just for pink wine.  Grapes are grown specifically for rosé and are harvested at the perfect balance of fresh fruit and juicy acidity.  Once in the winery, they are lightly crushed and allowed to pick up a just right touch of pink color and red berry flavor before pressing and finishing fermentation in cool stainless steel tanks.

In the outstanding (if small) 2016 vintage, Dragon Rosé has a rich texture and just as much complexity and refreshing vibrancy as ever.  Zesty aromas and flavors of tangy fruit – strawberry, redcurrant, and blood orange – take center stage with a nice dose of rose petal and classic Provençal herb for complexity.  A squeeze of citrus and dusting of chalky mineral help chase the pretty flavors across your palate and leave your mouth watering on the crisp, spicy, stony dry finish.  A lovely match for everything from grilled salmon to Salade Niçoise and delightful to sip on its own.

J. Mourat Fiefs Vendeens Collection Rose 2016 J. Mourat Fiefs Vendeens Collection Rose 2016

From the Western Loire Valley appellation of Fiefs Vendeens, this ripe and juicy blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Negrette is even more fun in the stellar 2015 vintage.  Ripe aromas of crushed cherry and watermelon and a touch of fresh herb lead the way to a big mouthful of cherry/berry fruit and a fresh, juicy, mouthwatering finish.  Lip-smacking and fun to smell, drink and just admire – especially in the throw-back old-school bottle.  A bit richer and creamier than in the past; just as dry and crisp.  Great stuff to sip or enjoy with any spring or summer meal.

Margerum Riviera Rose Santa Barbara 2016 Product #31996 (In Stock)
Margerum Riviera Rose Santa Barbara 2016 Margerum Riviera Rose Santa Barbara 2016

Proof that you can make classic, refreshing, rose in California!  A blend of Grenache and Syrah picked and pressed for crisp rose plus dollops of saignee Cinsault, Counoise, and Mourvedre.  Fresh and easy drinking with bold ripe strawberry and tangy raspberry fruit and a pretty dash of very Provencal herb.  Crisp and clean on the juicy finish, drink this with a light chill (or just toss an ice cube in the glass!).

"Quite light in the glass but unmistakably pink, this Grenache-based rose shows a lime-driven citrus rind character on the crisp nose, gaining a touch of fruit from delicate watermelon and slight bubblegum scents. There is a touch of effervescence on the palate, where delicious and zesty lime, pink peach and more watermelon flavors come into play."Wine Enthusiast 90 points

Ch Les Valentines Rose Cotes De Provence 2016 Product #32030 (In Stock)
Ch Les Valentines Rose Cotes De Provence 2016 Ch Les Valentines Rose Cotes De Provence 2016

Simply the best rosé we’ll offer this year, this is the kind of rosé that will delight fans and convert pink wine skeptics – and, in this year, it will show you just why we’re all so excited about France’s magnificent 2016 rose vintage.  Valentine is a blend of Grenache and Cinsault from 30 year-old vines in certified organic vineyards just a few miles inland from Saint Tropez that offers both classic Provençal freshness and enough heft and body for amazing versatility at table.

The color of this wine is a showstopper – such a delicate, shimmering, pale pink that it’s hard to believe there could be any weight or flavor at all.  Give it a sniff, though, and you’ll start to smile as you enjoy the generous aromas of spring strawberries, cherries, tangerine, spice and Provençal herb.  Take a sip, and your eyes will widen as this pale pink beauty fills your mouth with a rich, creamy, textured explosion of ripe currant, cherry, and lemon/lime fruit with savory accents of white pepper and crushed herb.  And, as the dry, mineral-laced, finish makes your mouth water, you’ll do the only reasonable thing – grab the glass for yet another sip.  Enjoy this all summer, but be sure to get enough to drink with Thanksgiving turkey and enjoy all winter long.

Ch Thivin Beaujolais Villages Rose 2016 Product #32038 (In Stock)
Ch Thivin Beaujolais Villages Rose 2016 Ch Thivin Beaujolais Villages Rose 2016

Proof that not all great pink wine has to come from the South of France!  This is 100% naturally grown Gamay, harvested by hand, moved in whole bunches by gravity into a fermentation tank, and allowed to start bubbling away whenever the winery’s resident yeast population gets around to the job.  After a day’s fermentation, the tank is drained, the bunches lightly pressed, and the vivid orange-pink juice allowed to flow into stainless steel to finish dry.

A great bottle of rosé delights all the senses, including your sense of sight.  Here the fun starts even before you pull the cork, with a stylish frosted bottle and classic, even old-fashioned, label that epitomizes the state of Beaujolais today:  modern quality meets elegant tradition.  In the glass, this orange-pink beauty serves us soaring aromas of tangy cherry, fresh crushed raspberry, just picked strawberry and a twist of orange peel.  The fresh fruit flavors fill up your mouth and zip across your palate, leaving mid-summer watermelon and fresh peach flavors lingering on the long, dry, finish.  A Vinous 90 point rosé in 2013, 2014 and 2015 reaches new heights this year!

Dom de l'Olivette Bandol Rose 2016 Product #32074 (In Stock)
Dom de l'Olivette Bandol Rose 2016 Dom de l'Olivette Bandol Rose 2016

We love Bandol rosé, but the most famous wines of this sunny region on the Mediterranean Sea are a) hardly ever available; and b) cost $30+.  So tasting real Bandol pink that sells for under $20 ...well, we think you'll agree it's a treat! The aromas and flavors are classic Provence, with tangy strawberry, sweet peach and tart raspberry fruit complicated by notes of orange peel and fruit blossoms. The classic blend of Mourvedre and Grenache gives the wine plenty of mouthfilling heft - making this a great rose for food! - while tangy acids, a handfull of crushed herb and a bone dry finish keep things fresh and all around delicious.

Dom d'Eole Rose Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence 2016 Product #32178 (In Stock)

Organic Grapes!  An old friend returns in new packaging and with new style!  Utterly classic Provencal rose from a blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah, Cinsault, Grenache Blanc, Rolle, and Mourvedre.  You'll find the essence of ripe summer strawberry, juicy watermelon, and tangy tangerine with subtle accents of crushed rose petal and garrigue.  Bright on entry, silky smooth on the mid-palate, and then bracingly fresh and dry and mineral-laced on the long finish where orange pith, fresh berry, herb, and citrus flavors linger.  This stylish, captivating, pink is wonderfully refreshing on its own but has enough structure to delight with salads, chicken, or grilled seafood.

"With vineyards located in the small range of mountains known as the Alpilles (little Alps), this wine comes from a beautiful organic estate. The wine, with its full range of Provence grapes in the blend, is packed with red fruits. It has a tight texture that points up the fruitiness. Drink this finely structured wine now."Wine Enthusiast 91 points

Ch Peyrassol Commanderie Rose Cotes De Provence 2016 Product #31900 (In Stock)
Ch Peyrassol Commanderie Rose Cotes De Provence 2016 Ch Peyrassol Commanderie Rose Cotes De Provence 2016

A classic Provençal rosé from Neal Rosenthal Imports, the Commanderie de Peyrassol Rosé is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah, with a touch of Mourvedre.

Grapes have been harvested at this historic estate along the route of the Crusaders since 1256, way before Provençal rosé showed up in anyone’s Instagram feed. This estate’s flagship rosé has the traditional pale watermelon color from using the direct press method, and shows lovely aromas of melon and peach. Don’t let its pale color fool you - this rosé has enough structure and mouthwatering acidity to stand up to burgers and barbecue while still being a perfect standalone sipper.
