Elk Cove Pinot Noir Willamette 2014 375ml Elk Cove Pinot Noir Willamette 2014 375ml

Another classic release for this pioneer of Oregon's Chehalem mountains. A bit richer and broader than in some releases - 2013 was warm before the late rains - with a pretty note of smoky oak.

"Fresh and expressive, light-footed and generous, with cherry, plum and apricot flavors, coming together smoothly on the open-textured finish."Wine Spectator 90 points

Grochau Cellars Pinot Noir Commuter Cuvee 2015 Product #31711 (In Stock)

Want to taste why folks are even more excited about Oregon's 2015 vintage than they were about 2014?  You'll find rich aromas of juicy red raspberry, baked strawberry, and baking spice that really pop from the glass.  Light but nicely creamy on the palate, where the fruit turns more tangy with tart raspberry, pie cherry and cranberry flavors accented by notes of spice, earth, and white pepper.  Fun to drink right now, with good supporting tannin and acidity that won't get in the way of casual sipping.  And, a great value!

Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Gris Dundee Hills 2014 Product #31782 (In Stock)

Hands down, Oregon's finest Pinot Gris, from the Willamette Valley's very first winery.

"Aromas of green apple, orange zest and nectarine gain complexity and lift from chalky mineral and floral nuances. Zesty and penetrating on the palate, offering bitter pear skin and citrus fruit flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. Hints of honeysuckle and ginger emerge on the very long, nervy finish, which shows excellent clarity and nervy bite."  Vinous (Raynolds) 91 points

A STEAL in top-notch Chardonnay from one of the Willamette Valley's best vineyards; for Burgundy or California fans.

Harper Voit Pinot Blanc Sur Lie 2015 Product #31725 (In Stock)

Taking Pinot Blanc to a whole new level with 7 months aging on the lees in a fine, ripe, vintage. Dry and salty on the finish.

"This barrel-fermented wine drinks like a beautifully proportioned Chardonnay. It takes bright, intense fruit flavors of melon, yellow apples and green bananas, and puts a Burgundian spin on the mouthfeel with judicious acids and a touch of caramel. It's delicious, complex and should age nicely for another five to six years."Wine Enthusiast 93 points

Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay Estate 2013 Product #31773 (In Stock)
Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay Estate 2013 Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay Estate 2013

Eyrie – the site of the Willamette Valley’s very first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plantings – has been on fire with Chardonnay for years.  Here’s a little of the 2013 to whet your appetite for what’s to come.  As the reviews suggest, it’s all the better for having had a few years in bottle.

"The 2013 Estate Chardonnay comes from vines planted in 1965, the cuttings from Spring Mountain Vineyard that originally came from Wente. It has a very defined bouquet with citrus lemon, white peach and honeysuckle scents that are very focused. The palate is well balanced, resinous on the entry, again more a texturally focused white Oregon wine than one determined to cudgel you over the head with flavors. It becomes waxy toward the finish with a judicious dab of shaved ginger. This is understated and very succinct, but it deserves two or three years in bottle. Drink 2017-2028" Wine Advocate 90 points

"Spicy pear and apple fruit is at the core, with suggestions of green pineapple, mint and lemon verbena. The subtle herbs and citrus components are layered throughout, and the structure favors long term cellaring." Wine Enthusiast 92 points

Walter Scott Pinot Noir La Combe Verte 2015 Product #31907 (In Stock)
Walter Scott Pinot Noir La Combe Verte 2015 Walter Scott Pinot Noir La Combe Verte 2015

The only one of our selected 2015 Walter Scott wines to be reviewed so far – yes, that’s a 92 point rating from Wine Spectator for Ken and Erica’s entry level Pinot!  It’s a pretty serious wine of very serious quality – not surprising because Ken and Erica take this wine very seriously indeed.  As Erica writes, “Famed Burgundy importer Becky Wasserman was once quoted in Wine Spectator saying, 'You can always judge a great Domaine by the quality of their Bourgogne bottling.' These are words we LIVE by. We put the same care and attention to detail into our two Willamette Valley wines as we do our single vineyard selections. These are the foundation for everything that we do. It is our reputation and our life.”

“Bright and expressive, with firm tannins around a glowing core of raspberry, pomegranate and cherry flavors, shading the finish with hints of savory spices. Has presence and persistence on a sleek frame. Best from 2018 through 2025.”Wine Spectator 92 points

Belle Pente Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2014 Product #31696 (In Stock)
Belle Pente Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2014 Belle Pente Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2014

A spectacular, rich and deep, lip-smacking, bottle of delicious Pinot Noir.  Sure, you can cellar this if you want to.  But we're a bit skeptical you can wait.  Better than the rating.

"Vivid red. Mineral- and spice-laced aromas of fresh red berries and rose, joined by a hint of blood orange that builds in the glass. Clean and nervy on entry, then deeper and broader in the midpalate, offering energetic black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors complemented by a sweet touch of floral pastilles. Supple tannins build slowly on the sappy, penetrating finish, which hangs on with strong, spicy persistence."  Vinous (Raynolds) 91 points

Patricia Green Pinot Noir Reserve 2015 Product #31758 (In Stock)
Patricia Green Pinot Noir Reserve 2015 Patricia Green Pinot Noir Reserve 2015

This has been one of the best values in Willamette Valley Pinot Noir for years, but in 2015 it really soars.  This year 75% of the barrels came from sedimentary soils in Ribbon Ridge and Chehalem Mountain AVAs, 15% from Freedom Hill and 15% from volcanic soils in the Dundee Hills.  It’s genuinely lush and a bit showy now with opulent aromas and flavors of crushed black raspberry, dark cherries, exotic flowers, smoke and damp earth.  Mouthfilling and showing a glyceryl richness, but with vivid acids, fine tannins, and no excess of weight.  As Jim and Patty say, “There are seriously great bones here and this wine will stand up to many, many much higher priced bottlings… In short, this wine is a smoking deal!!

"Deep red. Expansive red berry and floral pastille scents and flavors show impressive energy and pick up a hint of smokiness as the wine opens up. Smooth and fleshy but lively as well; a late jolt of white pepper adds spicy bite. Generous but vibrant in character, finishing very long and sweet, with gentle tannins lending shape and subtle grip. This wine delivers exceptional bang for the buck."  Vinous (Raynolds) 91 points
