Branger Muscadet Les Fils De Gras Mouton 2015 Branger Muscadet Les Fils De Gras Mouton 2015

The world's most under-valued great white wine could just be Muscadet - the bone-dry, stony, green-fruited Loire Valley white that folks keep confusing with sweet/perfumy "Muscat."  The grape is actually Melon de Bourgogne and it gives a tart, green apple and lime zest, wine that needs a few months resting on the lees to develop matching richness and depth.  This one's delicious for now-2025 (really!) and crazy cheap for the quality.

"Last tasted in late July 2016 on the eve of what was to be the first of multiple bottlings, this is a bit closed on the nose but displays infectious juiciness of apple, lime and honeydew melon mingled with iodine, crushed stone and mineral salts, leading to a vibrant, consummately refreshing, palate-staining finish."  Vinous (Schlidnecht) 92-93 points
