- Ch Thivin Cote De Brouilly 2015 Product #31589 (In Stock)
A benchmark Gamay from 50 year-old vines growing on steeply sloped, rocky, soils on the side of the ancient volcano now known as Mont Brouilly. Claude Geoffray and son Claude-Edouard partially destem their fruit, ferment whole cluster, and age the wine in a mixture of concrete and old oak casks. The 2015 is a perfect introduction to the delights of Beaujolais, with generous crunchy black cherry and raspberry fruit, lavender accents, and juicy, fresh, acids. Try it a bit cool on a picnic or at home with sausages or grilled chicken and you'll see why this is one of the most exciting summer reds in the store.
"Bottled 3 weeks prior to my visit, the 2015 Côte de Brouilly was very closed on the nose though you can tell that it is packed to the rafters with fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with intense red and black fruit, superb mineralité and harmony, gradually building in the mouth with a compelling, tensile finish. What a fantastic Beaujolais in the making - about as good as it gets to be quite honest. If I taste a better QPR wine this year...no, just impossible."Wine Advocate 94 points
