Chanson Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Caradeux 2015 Product #32558 (In Stock)
Chanson Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Caradeux 2015 Chanson Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Caradeux 2015

Tucked into a valley to the north of Corton-Charlemagne, the pretty little village of Pernand-Vergelesses is easy to miss while driving up and down the Route de Grand Cru.  Most of the vineyards here are east-facing, and in cooler vintages can struggle to ripen fully.  But in a fine, warm, year like 2015, the 1er Crus of Pernand are able to balance ripeness and freshness perfectly – as they do here!

"Outstanding Top Value. There is enough wood present to remark upon suffusing the citrus and mineral reduction scents. Once again there is plenty of volume to the round, supple and attractively intense flavors that exhibit even better minerality on the sappy, powerful and mouth coating finish. This too is really very good and worth your consideration."Allen Meadows 91 points

"A focused, lemon-tinged white, whose linear profile and lively acidity corral the citrus, stone and spice notes on the lingering finish. Comes together nicely with air, so decant now or cellar for a year. 70 cases imported."Wine Spectator 91 points

Chanson Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi 2015 Product #32559 (In Stock)
Chanson Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi 2015 Chanson Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi 2015

Clos du Roi is at the northern end of the Beaune AOC and, like so many fine Beaune reds, drinks like a cross between Volnay (silky, perfumed) and Pommard (firm, powerful).  From organically grown grapes, winemaker Jean-Pierre Confuron used 100% whole clusters during his cool, long, fermentation and aged the wine for 16 months in a mixture of used and new cask. Decant for at least 2 hours now to let the reduction blow off or hold a while and let time work its magic.

"A very pungent nose is composed of reduction, menthol and wood toast. Otherwise there is good freshness to the velvet-textured and mouth coating middle weight flavors that possess a juicy and fleshy mouth feel while delivering fine length on the chewy and serious finale. This isn't an elegant wine and it's unusually structured for Clos du Roi but it should make for a fine effort if it's allowed at least 6 to 8 years of cellaring."Allen Meadows 90-92 points
