- Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Gris Dundee Hills 2014 Product #31782 (In Stock)
Hands down, Oregon's finest Pinot Gris, from the Willamette Valley's very first winery.
"Aromas of green apple, orange zest and nectarine gain complexity and lift from chalky mineral and floral nuances. Zesty and penetrating on the palate, offering bitter pear skin and citrus fruit flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. Hints of honeysuckle and ginger emerge on the very long, nervy finish, which shows excellent clarity and nervy bite." Vinous (Raynolds) 91 points
- Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay Estate 2013 Product #31773 (In Stock)
Eyrie – the site of the Willamette Valley’s very first Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plantings – has been on fire with Chardonnay for years. Here’s a little of the 2013 to whet your appetite for what’s to come. As the reviews suggest, it’s all the better for having had a few years in bottle.
"The 2013 Estate Chardonnay comes from vines planted in 1965, the cuttings from Spring Mountain Vineyard that originally came from Wente. It has a very defined bouquet with citrus lemon, white peach and honeysuckle scents that are very focused. The palate is well balanced, resinous on the entry, again more a texturally focused white Oregon wine than one determined to cudgel you over the head with flavors. It becomes waxy toward the finish with a judicious dab of shaved ginger. This is understated and very succinct, but it deserves two or three years in bottle. Drink 2017-2028" Wine Advocate 90 points
"Spicy pear and apple fruit is at the core, with suggestions of green pineapple, mint and lemon verbena. The subtle herbs and citrus components are layered throughout, and the structure favors long term cellaring." Wine Enthusiast 92 points
