A crisp, complex, Sauvignon the finishes dry and mineral.

"Pungent orange, pear and floral scents are complemented by white pepper and honey nuances that build in the glass. Juicy, dry and sharply focused, offering bitter orange pith and quince flavors that slowly flesh out and deepen on the back half. Spicy and smooth on the finish, which hangs on with very good, minerally tenacity."  Vinous (Raynolds) 90 points

Patricia Green Pinot Noir Freedom Hill 2016 Product #33148 (In Stock)
Patricia Green Pinot Noir Freedom Hill 2016 Patricia Green Pinot Noir Freedom Hill 2016

What’s the greatest vineyard in Oregon’s Willamette Valley?  For years the most common answer would have been Seven Springs or Shea.  But today the 88 acres of vines planted on Freedom Hill, just outside Dallas, Oregon, is in contention for that honor.  As winemaker Jim Anderson says, this is “almost Eola-Amity,” sharing the western side of the AVA’s marine sedimentary soils but escaping some of the cold air that flows inland through the Van Duzer Corridor every afternoon.  Which means Freedom Hill Pinot Noir has the perfect blend of sedimentary soil vivacity and energy and warm site richness and power.

Jim Anderson and Patricia Green got their first fruit from Freedom Hill in vintage 2012, and they made what is clearly a benchmark interpretation of this great site.  In 2016, the wine blends fruit from blocks of Pommard, Dijon 115 and Coury clones of Pinot Noir and layers in a big dose of whole cluster spice and structure and about 25% new French oak. Clear, pure, black raspberry fruit plus notes of licorice, violets, and cola show on the nose and palate and the finish is long, persistent, and nicely structured.  Delicious with duck or mushrooms today and improving for a decade at least.

Patricia Green Pinot Noir Estate Old Vines 2015 Product #32035 (In Stock)
Patricia Green Pinot Noir Estate Old Vines 2015 Patricia Green Pinot Noir Estate Old Vines 2015

The late Patty Green and her partner/winemaker, Jim Anderson, are all about getting site into bottle.  They make 20+ wines featuring unique vineyards and clones from sites across the Willamette Valley.  And they make 4 different wines from their own, 30 acre, vineyard in Ribbon Ridge.  This bottling features the oldest vines on the property, five different blocks of Pommard Clone Pinot Noir planted on their own roots in five different blocks.

"One-third whole clusters and 8% new French oak. Deep, lurid red. Sexy red berry liqueur, incense and Asian spice aromas are complemented by subtle cola and candied rose notes. Silky, smooth and penetrating on the palate, offering concentrated raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that become sweeter as the wine opens up. Seamless and densely packed yet lively as well, finishing with strong red fruit thrust and velvety tannins that arrive late."  Vinous (Raynolds) 93 points

"Expressive and beautifully built, with raspberry and rose petal aromas and plush, structured flavors of cherry, spiced cinnamon and dark tea that build power. Shows a slight bite of tannins toward the finish. Drink now through 2023."Wine Spectator 93 points

Patricia Green Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Dijon 115 2014 Product #31722 (In Stock)
Patricia Green Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Dijon 115 2014 Patricia Green Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Dijon 115 2014

"Limpid ruby-red. Raspberry liqueur, potpourri and Asian spice aromas, accompanied by suggestions of cola and incense. Stains the palate with vibrant red fruit and floral pastille flavors; peppery spice and mineral notes provide lift. Silky, even tannins build slowly and evenly on a strikingly long, mineral-laced finish that leaves notes of raspberry and allspice behind. There's impressive energy here for a wine from a ripe vintage."  Vinous (Raynolds) 93 points

"The 2014 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard Dijon 115 is the same composition as the 2013, but with one-third new oak. It has an appealing bouquet with dark berry fruit, bell pepper and touches of brine, something very marine-like coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with that bell pepper note coming through on the entry from the stem addition, lending a Loire-like character to this Pinot Noir. I appreciate the tension here, a rather uncompromising, yet compelling Pinot Noir with wonderful salinity towards the finish. Intellectual as well as sensorial, afford this 2-3 years in your cellar."Wine Advocate 93 points

Patricia Green Cellars Pinot Noir Durant 2014 Product #33187 (In Stock)

"(20 percent whole clusters and aged in one-third new oak) Dark red. Intense, smoke-accented aromas of blackberry, cherry pit, spicecake and rhubarb carry a powerful floral overtone. Juicy and expansive in the mouth, offering energetic dark fruit, rose pastille and cola flavors that pick up energy with air. Closes on a bitter cherry note, delivering impressive, nervy thrust, lingering floral character and sneaky tannins that fold effortlessly into the energetic fruit. I really like this wine's marriage of power and vivacity." Vinous 93

Fleshy and broad in the mouth but surprisingly lithe as well, offering palate-staining Chambord, boysenberry and spicecake flavors that are complemented by blood orange and candied rose flourishes.
