Santa Barbara Verdicchio 2016 Product #32079 (In Stock)
Santa Barbara Verdicchio 2016 Santa Barbara Verdicchio 2016

Another great vintage for this popular DOC Verdicchio in the traditional curvy bottle. Really bursts with dried lemon, pink grapefruit, Granny Smith apple fruit made even better by a nice dose of stony minerality and a dash of fresh herb. It glides across your palate like silk then finishes brisk and clean and fresh.  Great wine for seafood and salads or just to sip. Under-priced for the quality.

De Angelis Pecorino Offida DOC 2016 Product #33385 (In Stock)
De Angelis Pecorino Offida DOC 2016 De Angelis Pecorino Offida DOC 2016

An ancient grape variety of the Marche - virtually extinct and recently rediscovered and revived. This is from 50 year-old vines, and it's crisp and clean, with transparent flavors of apple and honeysuckle and a hint of lemon drop and lots of stony minerality.  There's fine amplitude to the flavors and a lovely generosity of fruit mid-palate before the salty, seafood-friendly, minerality comes up at the end.

La Staffa Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi 2016 Product #32971 (In Stock)
La Staffa Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi 2016 La Staffa Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi 2016

The famous white wine of Italy's Marches region, Verdicchio from Castelli di Jesi's hills gave strength to the Visigoth troops of King Alarich when they marched on Rome in the late 300s.  This version is a good deal fresher and more delicious than that!  Green apple, preserved lemon, and green citrus flavors abound here in a wine that's pure, lovely and long.  The apple, lemon and lime flavors linger nicely on the mouthwatering finish in a wine that will give you strength to eat a little more seafood (if not march on Rome).

"Bright straw. Nectarine, dried orange peel, walnut and fresh white flowers are lifted by a minty topnote; a hint of volatile acidity blows off with aeration. Glyceral and fruit-driven on the palate, with flavors of stone fruit nectar and lime framed and lifted by harmonious acidity. Very long and refreshing on the aftertaste." Vinous (D'Agata) 91 points

La Staffa Mai Sentito Pet-Nat 2017 Product #33388 (In Stock)
La Staffa Mai Sentito Pet-Nat 2017 La Staffa Mai Sentito Pet-Nat 2017

If you love Pet-Nat, then you'll love this.  And, if you don't know about this "hipster" fizz yet (or haven't liked the funky ones you've tried so far), this is going to make you a fan!  The phrase comes from  Pétillant-Naturel, meaning a wine that goes into bottle while still fermenting, trapping some light fizz naturally.

Here the base wine is the fantastic Verdicchio of La Staffa with about 20% Trebbiano for body.  Sure, it smells and tastes great - clean, fresh, notes of crunchy apple, white peach, and fresh lemon pulp and a tiny hint of ginger.  But it's the texture that's captivating, zesty and mouthfilling and satisfying without one jot of extra weight (11.5% alcohol) or sweetness. Less fizzy and MUCH more flavorful than Prosecco, it's a wine to drink to celebrate an afternoon, to toast unexpected guests, or just because you're thirsty.

La Staffa Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi Riserva 2015 Product #33172 (In Stock)

One of the finest expressions of Verdicchio in the world.

"Luminous straw-yellow. Complex, wild aromas of apricots macerated in alcohol, orange marmalade, marzipan and honey are joined on the palate by orange zest and limoncello. Bracing acidity cuts the wine's honeyed richness and keeps this light and lively on the palate, avoiding any undue weight. This is a beauty."  Vinous (d'Agata) 92+ points
