Luis Rodriguez established his bodega in 1988 and makes red wine from indigenous grape varietals in the winemaking region of Ribeiro in Galicia, northwest Spain. Eidos Ermos comes from young vine Caiño, Brancellao, Souson, and Ferrol, planted by Luis himself. The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in steel vat, and raised partly in 225 liter used French oak barrels and partly in steel vat for 12 months. Fresh, with aromatic red fruits and spice, this wine is suprisingly supple on the palate, finishing with floral and herbal notes. Complex, but drinkable!

"The nose of the entry level red 2015 Eidos Ermos showed better than the great majority of reds from the appellation. It's a blend of Brancellao, Caíño Longo, Ferrol and Caíño Redondo from younger vines (less than ten years old) or the wines that do not make it to the other cuvées. The destemmed grapes fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, and only part of the wine matures in used barriques for some six months. There are aromas of wild flowers, herbs and berries with an earthy touch. The palate shows very fine- grained tannins and a tasty and fresh finish. 3,000 bottles produced."Wine Advocate 91 points
