Zeitgeist Trousseau Gris Russian River 2015 Product #30759 (In Stock)
Zeitgeist Trousseau Gris Russian River 2015 Zeitgeist Trousseau Gris Russian River 2015

A crazy cool wine to sip by itself, with salads, fish, or even Asian foods.  Fresh aromas of gingered apple and apricot get accents of chamomile, sugar snap pea and white flowers.  Then generous stone fruit and spice on the palate with a touch of anise underneath.  It’s rich and round in texture with a lovely buttered nut quality before the juicy acids and salty mineral flavors well up and drive a long, fresh, crisp finish.  Rare, unusual, and seriously delicious.

Rued Chardonnay Russian River 2015 Product #32070 (In Stock)
Rued Chardonnay Russian River 2015 Rued Chardonnay Russian River 2015

When Henry Rued left his family's vineyards in Switzerland and arrived in Napa Valley to work for Beringer Brothers in 1876, he probably never imagined that his descendants would still be growing grapes and making wine in California 140 years later.  Today, the husband and wife team of Steve and Sonia Rued sell most of the grapes from their vineyards in Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, and the Russian River Valley - but keep the very best for their 3,500 case per year family winery.

Top-Line:  In 2015, this is a SUPERB alternative to Rombauer (and a big step up from Butter Chard).  It's wonderfully ripe, with deep tropical and orchard fruit aromas and flavors, a creamy texture, and a very long, butter and spice, finish.  The oak is nicely done, adding spice and shape without overwhelming the luscious fruit. Outstanding value in buttery Russian River Chardonnay.

Martinelli Zinfandel Martinelli Rd RRV 2014 Product #32042 (In Stock)

As Wine Advocate says, this is "One of the great families of Northern California, and of course, one of the highest quality producers."  Helen Turley put the estate on the map and their Jackass Hill vineyard is one of the best Zinfandel sites of all.  This is a tiny production wine - just a few hundred cases - from the Russian River and it's explosively good.  Big, powerful, and chock-full of sweet briary fruit in the mid-palate before notes of spice, vanilla and blackberry really pop on the finish.  A wild and wonderful ride here.

Porter Creek Chardonnay Russian River 2014 Product #30746 (In Stock)
Porter Creek Chardonnay Russian River 2014 Porter Creek Chardonnay Russian River 2014

As usual, this nicely marries California ripeness with good cut and precision.  Rich aromas of pear, yellow apple, apricot and smoke lead to bold flavors of baked pear/apple lifted by a dash of tangerine.  The smoky oak and fresh butter notes add complexity and depth without overwhelming the fruit, and the wine finishes clean, rich, buttery, and long.  Delicious to sip and flexible with food.

Walter Hansel Pinot Noir Estate Russian River 2013 Product #31120 (In Stock)
Walter Hansel Pinot Noir Estate Russian River 2013 Walter Hansel Pinot Noir Estate Russian River 2013

A classic Russian River Pinot of fine depth and elegance.

"The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate impresses for its silky, layered personality. Crushed flowers, sweet red cherries, mint and spices all meld together in a Pinot Noir that is all about balance. Bright floral flavors abound in a silky, layered Pinot that shows the more refined side of the Russian River."  Vinous (Galloni) 91 points

"The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate, made mostly from Rochioli clonal material and a small portion of the so-called Swan clone, is a beautiful Pinot Noir, very Burgundian, with notes of forest floor, loamy soil undertones, sweet black cherries and Asian plum sauce. It is dark ruby, lush, medium to full-bodied and ideal for drinking over the next decade."Wine Advocate 91 points

Ramey Pinot Noir Russian River 2014 Product #31220 (In Stock)
Ramey Pinot Noir Russian River 2014 Ramey Pinot Noir Russian River 2014

Just delicious, with lovely fruit, good richness and a vibrant finish.

"The 2014 Pinot Noir (Russian River) is an attractive, mid-weight wine, especially within the context of the Russian River, where the wines can be much more exuberant. Bright red cherry, game and spice notes open up in this very pretty, delineated Pinot from David Ramey. There is plenty to look forward to. Vineyard sites are: Westside Farms, Bucher and Keller."  Vinous (Galloni) 88-90 points
