Tselepos Dilofos Red 2013 Product #31452 (In Stock)
Tselepos Dilofos Red 2013 Tselepos Dilofos Red 2013

A favorite at Nostos in Tyson's, this zesty Green red is going to be a favorite here, too.  A blend of fresh and nicely ripe Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that ages in new and used barrels for an extra layer of spicy/smoky richness.  The fruit really flows on the juicy mid-palate and keeps on pumping with added notes of spiced and fresh herb through the long, refreshing, finish.

Secret Squirrel Columbia Valley 2013 Product #32202 (In Stock)
Secret Squirrel Columbia Valley 2013 Secret Squirrel Columbia Valley 2013

The name may be silly, but the wine is silly delicious. This Bordeaux style blend from Columbia Valley. Aromas of ripe blackberries and sage, with a hint of coffee invite you to take a sip. Despite all these dark, rich flavors, the fruit flavors are vibrant and exciting and the finish is firm enough for a steak, but not too firm to sip alone. You won’t want to keep this a secret!

Ridgeview Cavendish Brut NV England 2013 Product #31552 (In Stock)
Ridgeview Cavendish Brut NV England 2013 Ridgeview Cavendish Brut NV England 2013

One of the very top sparkling wine houses in England is making a great case for the comparision to Champagne with this classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinou Meunier.  Loads of apple and subtle red berry fruit on the nose and palate with a fine bread-dough complexity in the background.  Finishes fine and crisp, with tiny bubles givinig freshness and inviting you back for another sip.

"A haze of summer flowers hovers across a fizzy feast of crunchy, green apple. Autolytic notes of bread stay clearly in the background while this easy, joyful wine majors on primary, crisp apple fruit and a whistle-clean finish."Wine Enthusiast 89 points

Clua Milliennium Tinto 2013 Product #32666 (In Stock)
Clua Milliennium Tinto 2013 Clua Milliennium Tinto 2013

In this fascinatingly delicious wine, Xavier Clua has captured the changable essence of his Terra Alta Vineyards.  Vineyards that move from clay, to rocky chalk, to lightly sandy across his 450-500 meter site.  Days and nights range from baking hot to bracing chill.  And his grapes here start with classic Garnatxa Negra (Garnacha) and pull in complements of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.  Put all that together with a year in 50/50 new/second use barrel, and you get a wine that has a lot to say - and says it with power and charm.

On first pour and sniff, you can tell this is going to be a wild ride!  Aromas of deep roasted black fruits - plums, berries, cherries - turn rich and deep with air and are framed by scents of subtle spice, light balsamic and a hint of roasted meat.  In the mouth, this is one of those wines that walks a tightly focused path between rich indulgence and intense verve.  Deeply expressive flavors of wild blackberry, black currant, raspberry, licorice and balsamic are lifted across the palate by a burst of tangy blackberry juice, fresh blood orange, and fresh floral notes.  A beguiling hint of walnut runs under the mouthwatering finish where fresh picked berry and blood orange flavors ride over fine-grained tannins.

Or at least that's what I got from my tasting.  The truth is that this is a wine in motion, and what you'll smell, taste, and feel from it will shift and evolve over the hours you have it in your glass.  A joy to drink now and plenty of potential to improve through 2023.

En Numeros Vermells Classic Priorat Negre 2013 Product #29835 (In Stock)
En Numeros Vermells Classic Priorat Negre 2013 En Numeros Vermells Classic Priorat Negre 2013

715 bottles made, 384 imported.  As in 2011 and 2012, Silvia’s “Classic” Priorat is, well, “Classic.”  A blend of 65% Garnatxa, 30% Syrah, and 5% Carinyena fermented in open-top 300 liter and 500 liter French oak and then aged 13 months in those same barrels (with the tops back on).  It’s very young now and still a little shy on the nose and compacted on the palate, although the intensity, balance, and velvety texture are all easy to appreciate now.  My note from first tasting with Jonas:

“Dark and spicy fruit, long and rich, amazing power and then amazing finesse.  A “wow wine” with loads of dark, rich, fruit, powerful tannins, and a generous helping of Priorat graphite and slate.  Shockingly supple and sophisticated for its size.  What terrior (sense of place) is.  All in balance.”  Give this 2 or 3 years and enjoy for 20.

"Opaque ruby. An array of intense, mineral-accented dark berry liqueur and floral pastille scents, along with hints of anise, cola and woodsmoke. Sweet, penetrating and pure on the palate, offering concentrated boysenberry and blueberry flavors that are lifted and given spine by tangy acidity. The extremely long finish blends power and elegance with a deft hand, with fine-grained tannins making a late and subtle appearance."  <b>Vinous (Raynolds) 93 points
