Guigal Chateauneuf-du-pape 2009 375ml Product #30009 (In Stock)
Guigal Chateauneuf-du-pape 2009 375ml Guigal Chateauneuf-du-pape 2009 375ml

Stellar wine that's already delicious.

"Potent cherry, redcurrant and floral scents are given a musky, earthy touch by a hint of rhubarb. Sappy, sweet and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering bitter cherry and raspberry preserve flavors and a touch of licorice. The clinging finish is shaped by silky, even tannins and given bite by a hint of cracked pepper."  Vinous 92 points

"The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape appears to be a beautiful wine, although perhaps not at the level of the 2007 or 2010 (which will not be released for another two years). The elegant, medium to full-bodied 2009 displays lots of cedary, berry fruit intermixed with notes of garrigue, Christmas fruitcake, kirsch and spice. It is best consumed in its first decade of life."Wine Advocate 90-92 points

Guillon Marsannay Blanc Les Champs Perdrix 2009 Product #31438 (In Stock)
Guillon Marsannay Blanc Les Champs Perdrix 2009 Guillon Marsannay Blanc Les Champs Perdrix 2009

A rich, luxurious, Chardonnay from the northern reaches of the Cote de Nuits in Marsannay.  In the warm 2009 harvest, Jean-Michel allowed the healthy Chardonnay fruit to ripen fully before hand harvesting and fermenting and aging the wine in 50% new oak.  Aromas of nut oil, lemon, chervil, smoke and stone fruit lead to a deeply textured, viscous, palate of mature Chardonnay nut, lemon curd, orchard fruit, warm stones, and savory herb.  The flavors really cling to your palate through a long, savory, finish.

Amalie Robert Pinot Noir Dijon Clones 2009 Product #28036 (In Stock)
Amalie Robert Pinot Noir Dijon Clones 2009 Amalie Robert Pinot Noir Dijon Clones 2009

A blend of 5 Dijon clones, grown on 4 different rootstocks sourced from 9 dry farmed blocks, each fermented with some whole clusters and aged in barrel for at least 12 months.  Like all Amalie Robert wines, it’s released late, which means you can actually enjoy it now (although it will age beautifully).  Pretty, bright, and full of sweet Dijon clone red fruits balanced by bright, spring-like, acidity.  Mouthwatering and delicious.

"Bright red. Sexy, spice-accented aromas of red berry preserves, potpourri and sandalwood, with a touch of cola in the background. Shows very good intensity and sweetness, offering lithe raspberry and cherry flavors and a hint of bitter blood orange. Closes on a spicy note, with excellent clarity and persistent sweetness."International Wine Cellar 92 points

Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 2009 375 Ml Product #24683 (In Stock)
Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 2009 375 Ml Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 2009 375 Ml

Usually my personal favorite of the line-up (although 2007 Fonseca is pretty impressive!), the 2009 Taylor Fladgate delivers the Bordeaux-like elegance and class it's known for. On the nose black fruit with notes of raspberry and plum and hints of graphite and cedar. The flavors stay black with currant and cherry appearing plus dark licorice root, apple skin, and more graphite. The deep flavors stay over top of the firm, grippy, mouth-coating tannins that keep everything focused and almost elegant (if such a big wine can be elegant). Love it.

"Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark."Wine Advocate 95 points

Brovia Barolo Garblet Sue 2009 Product #27807 (In Stock)
Brovia Barolo Garblet Sue 2009 Brovia Barolo Garblet Sue 2009

Probably the least "open" of the 2009 Brovias, but promising great things 5-7 years from now!

"Iron, tar, scorched earth, smoke and game waft from the glass as the 2009 Barolo Garblèt Sue' opens up. The ferrous notes typical of this site come through loud and clear in the 2009. At the same time, the 2009 is surprisingly soft. At times delicate and even ethereal, the 2009 appears to be heavily marked by the vintage."  Antonio Galloni 90 points

"Wild, ripe aromas of red berries, plum, truffle and game. Rich and broad but currently less shapely and delineated than the Villero, not to mention less showy. Shows a larger structure reflecting its Castiglione origin, but this is also harder to taste today. The big tannins are less fine than those of the Villero. Elena Brovia points out that this wine is made in exactly the same way as the Villero and Garblet Sue, so the differences are entirely a function of terroir."International Wine Cellar 91+? points

Trimbach Riesling Cuvee Frederic Emile 2009 Product #31587 (In Stock)

A classic; mature, complex, bone dry.

"Citrus zest, fruit pit, huckleberry, and white pepper lend Trimbach’s 2009 Riesling Cuvee Frederic Emile an aromatic piquancy and tactile bite that – allied to an oily texture – might pull a bit too much in a bitter direction were it not for a satisfying and far from vintage-typical abundance of exuberantly juicy lime, tangerine, and kiwi. A high-toned aura of pit fruit distillate hovers over the entire performance. Crushed stone and alkaline mineral notes add depth to an invigoratingly and tenaciously lingering finish. This ought to perform admirably in the classic Frederic Emile role for at least 12-15 years."Wine Advocate 92 points

"A compact white that marries a firm backbone of acidity with focused flavors of apple and green pear, petrol and lanolin, honeycomb and ground spice. Delivers a fresh, zesty finish. Drink now through 2029."Wine Spectator 92 points

Brovia Barolo Rocche Dei Brovia 2009 Product #27808 (In Stock)
Brovia Barolo Rocche Dei Brovia 2009 Brovia Barolo Rocche Dei Brovia 2009

The most graceful, elegant, of the Cru wines from Brovia in 2009, but with plenty of depth, too.

"The 2009 Barolo Rocche dei Brovia wraps around the palate with layers of ripe, succulent fruit. Rich, open and expressive, the 2009 is flashy and seductive, in other words, very typical of the year. This is a fairly open, succulent vintage for the Rocche. I imagine it will drink well early and probably be likely to mature quickly as well. Dried rose petals, savory herbs and fennel add complexity on a finish distinguished by its grace."  Antonio Galloni 91 points

"High-pitched aromas of raspberry, rose petal and mint. Juicy, youthfully tight and intense; not a rich style but elegant and perfumed, with good supporting minerality. No sign of overripeness here, unlike with many other 2009 Barolos from sandy soil. Finishes with building but ripe tannins and enticing lingering aromatic character. Very refined."International Wine Cellar 92 points

Ch Giscours Margaux 2009 Product #31674 (In Stock)
Ch Giscours Margaux 2009 Ch Giscours Margaux 2009

Another stunner from the fast disappearing 2009 harvest.

"Tasted at the Château Giscours vertical, the 2009 Château Giscours is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot picked between September 22 and October 13. Deep garnet in color, it has a sumptuous bouquet with blackberry, saddle leather, forest floor and even just a faint touch of juniper berries. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, lightly grained tannin. This is a very harmonious Giscours with cedar and a pinch of black pepper sprinkled over the black fruit. It is certainly well proportioned with one of the more "masculine" finishes for the vintage. Showing better than when I tasted it blind a couple of years ago, this is an excellent Margaux that should drink earlier than the succeeding vintage. Tasted June 2015."Wine Advocate 93 points

"This is alluring, with lots of incense, warm espresso and roasted mesquite notes leading the way for a sleek core of mouthwatering black currant and blackberry fruit. The long finish lets the mesquite edge linger, with well-embedded grip. Rock-solid. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2014 through 2029."Wine Spectator 93 points
